L2S

This 12 session course will teach you the basics of skating. This program is designed for all levels. We will teach basic skating stance and stride, how to stop and how to fall. Learn to Skate is for anyone who wants to learn more about roller skating and is the first step in learning how to play roller derby. Once complete, you will then have the option to join the Fog City Rollers “Fresh Meat” program. This is a more advanced program that teaches you the specific skills needed to play roller derby.

When: Every Friday night at 8:00pm starting March 13, 2015

Where: Millidgeville North School

Cost: $100 plus insurance cost of $50

Bring a pre-formed mouth guard which you can buy in Saint John at any sporting goods store or Heartbreak Boutique.

For insurance purposes we also require you to wear knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, a helmet, and quad skates. If you have any of this please bring it. If you do not have these things there is a possibility we will have some to lend you for a session or two. If you do need to borrow gear please send an email in advance to one of our coaches (details below).

Roller derby gear can be purchased at the following locations:
http://heartbreakboutique.com/
http://skateneon.com/

All three of these locations have excellent customer service and will be able to help you pick out a package that includes everything you need to start skating.
